As the words curve themselves to move between your lips
my breath, she gets a little too excited.
Leaping up through the throat, she soars to catch them.
But your lips close,
she falls back down
curling up to find warmth
deep within her lung’s abode
In and out she sustains
as those words talk of your crush
hushing your worries from a tense neck
she quiets those fears.
As she claws into your heart
encountering rusty ruins and unscathed thoughts
she needs to grab for a jacket, its too chilly in there.
Yet that night
when your hands found their way to the crevices of my warm curves
she crawled up to your lips to simply
hold their weary ways.
not for long, though.
for your body told the story of the love she could not hold
and yet Sometimes
she should only howl to your hidden wounds
Exhale became her love.
